India wicketkeeper-batter Sushma Verma has been signed by Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) as a replacement for Yastika Bhatia ahead of the 2026 Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) knockouts. Reason for Replacement: Yastika Bhatia, currently the tournament's second-highest run-scorer, departed early to captain India A in a three-match one-day series and a four-day match against Australia A starting September 20. Return for Sushma Verma: This marks a return to top-level franchise cricket for Sushma, whose previous franchise appearance was with the Gujarat Giants in the 2023 WPL. She was top-form in the 2025–26 domestic one-day tournament, striking nine sixes in six innings. Indian Contingent: Sushma becomes the sixth Indian player in WCPL 2026, joining teammate Shikha Pandey at TKR, as well as Kiran Navgire, Pooja Vastrakar, and Harleen Deol at Barbados Tridents. Tournament Status: TKR topped the four-team league stage to secure direct qualification for the final on September 17 in Bridgetown, where they will face the winner of the playoff between Barbados Tridents and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
