Yuvraj Singh Appointed Delhi Capitals Assistant and Batting Coach for IPL 2027

The Appointment: Legendary former India all-rounder and multi-format World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh has been officially named the Assistant and Batting Coach of the Delhi Capitals for the upcoming IPL season. Coaching Debut: This high-profile role marks Yuvraj Singh’s first formal coaching assignment in professional franchise cricket, following years of informally mentoring rising and established Indian stars. Reunion with Ganguly: The move pairs Yuvraj with former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who recently took over as the franchise's head coach. The duo previously shared a deep player-captain bond, and they will now spearhead DC's backroom staff together. History with the Franchise: Yuvraj's appointment also marks a nostalgic homecoming to the Delhi setup. Back in 2015, he famously was bought by the franchise (then the Delhi Daredevils) for a then-record ₹16 crore, featuring in all 14 matches that season. In the past few years, Yuvraj has been credited by several Indian players, including Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, for playing a key role in their success as batters. Yuvraj has also played 14 games for Capitals in 2015, scoring 248 runs to go with a wicket after he had been bought for INR 16 crore ahead of the season. He was the most expensive player in the IPL at the time. Management Outlook: Co-owners Parth Jindal and Kiran Kumar Grandhi expressed immense excitement over securing Yuvraj's winning mindset, tactical expertise, and leadership to guide the franchise's talented squad toward their maiden IPL
