Lancashire have removed Mark Chilton from his position as Director of Cricket Performance as part of a major overhaul of the club's performance setup following sustained on-field struggles. Overhaul at Old Trafford: Chilton was relieved of his duties alongside Director of Women's Cricket David Thorley as chief executive Daniel Gidney moves to restructure the club's professional operation.   End of Two-Decade Association: Chilton has had a long-standing association with Lancashire, having played nearly 200 first-class matches as an opener, captained the side between 2005 and 2007, and served on the coaching staff since 2014 before taking the Director role in 2021.   Catalyst for Change: The decision follows a frustrating period for the men's team across all formats, driving board intervention to realign the club's focus on challenging for the County Championship and domestic trophies.   Women's Team Restructure: David Thorley was also dismissed following an underwhelming campaign for Lancashire Women as they navigate the transition into a fully professional county framework.
