Rajat Patidar withdraws from India A squad for Rising Stars Asia Cup

Rajat Patidar has been dropped from the India A squad for the Rising Stars Asia Cup, which begins on November 19 in Doha, Qatar. The right-handed batter, who was named vice-captain in the team led by Tilak Varma, has informed the BCCI that because he "manages existing injuries," he will not be selected for the 50-over event. In the first leg of the Ranji Trophy, Patidar captained Madhya Pradesh in three games and scored hundreds against Puducherry and Bihar. Prior to that, he was a member of the India A team that lost the one-day tournament in Puducherry to Australia A 2-1, scoring two half-centuries in three games. The tournament's replacement for Patidar is Delhi all-rounder Ayush Badoni. Badoni has been phenomenal in domestic cricket, scoring 559 runs, including two double hundreds, in four Ranji Trophy matches. Following Patidar's departure, batter Rinku Singh has been promoted to vice captain. India A will begin their campaign against Nepal on November 20 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, joining Nepal, UAE, and Pakistan A in Group B.
