Perth Scorchers rope in England batter Aneurin Donald for BBL 2026-27

Perth Scorchers have signed England wicketkeeper-batsman Aneurin Donald to a one-year contract after he made his international debut against Sri Lanka last month. Donald, who has a strike-rate of 172.53 from 115 T20s, is available for the entire season. Perth's move to sign both Donald and Crawley comes after Kiwi blaster Finn Allen was poached by Melbourne Stars last month on a mammoth three-year deal understood to be worth more than half-a-million dollars in its first season. In a statement, Scorchers general manager Kade Harvey said, "We are incredibly excited to have Aneurin join our BBL squad this season." “During his time with Trent Rockets during The Hundred, as well as again for England in the subsequent T20I series against Sri Lanka, he demonstrated a tremendous amount of potential. “I’m sure our members and fans will enjoy watching Aneurin’s aggressive style of batting on full display at ‘The Furnace’ this season.”
