Naveen-ul-Haq is all set to return to international cricket after being selected for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India in Delhi. This series will also be Ibrahim Zadran's first as Afghanistan's T20I captain. A shoulder injury that initially kept Naveen out of the Asia Cup last year and the T20 World Cup earlier this year has cost him a frustratingly long time on the field. He subsequently underwent surgery for a stress fracture in his right shoulder. After the 2023 World Cup, the 26-year-old has already retired from ODI cricket. In December 2024, he made his last appearance for Afghanistan. The ACB also confirmed the return of experienced allrounder Gulbadin Naib to the squad to bolster the middle order and the bowling department. Following his impressive performances in domestic cricket and the Shpageeza Cricket League, uncapped wicketkeeper Noor Rahman has been picked as the backup gloveman.Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Noor Ahmad and Nangyal Kharoti are the four spinners present in the 15-man setup.The three T20Is are scheduled to be played on September 13, 15 and 17.
