Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced its white-ball squads for the upcoming tour of India, handing opening batter Kamil Pooran his first international call-up while resting veteran all-rounder Jason Holder. Maiden Call-Up: 28-year-old Kamil Pooran earned his spot in the T20I squad following a breakout Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign, where he scored 273 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 159.64.   Holder Rested: Senior all-rounder Jason Holder has been rested for the T20I series as part of workload management. Long-Term Focus: Head coach Daren Sammy highlighted that the squad selection forms part of a broader vision to build a strong player pool targeting the 2028 ICC T20 World Cup. "Playing against the top team in the world presents us with a chance to fine tune and improve our performances as an ODI team which has seen quality performances across the cycle", West Indies head coach Daren Sammy said. "The series also creates a valuable platform to assess players who are stepping into important roles for this series with a long-term target of competing in the World Cup in 2027."
