IPL 2027 Auction in India - 10 franchises to battle in December for 2027 season
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to bring the IPL auction back home. Reports indicate the IPL 2027 auction will be held in India, ending a three-year stretch of overseas venues.
Return to India: The past three auctions were hosted internationally (Dubai in 2024, Jeddah in 2025, and Abu Dhabi in 2026). Auction Type: The 2027 event will be a mini-auction, following the major mega-auction reset in late 2024.
Provisional Timeline: The auction is expected to take place in mid-December 2026, aligning with the gap in India's domestic white-ball calendar. WPL Auction Parallel: The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction is also scheduled to take place in India, with Kochi reported as the likely host city.
