Bree Illing, three uncapped Indians added to WPL 2027 auction pool
The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction list, which will take place in Kochi on Wednesday (October 28), now includes four more players. The original shortlist now includes Bree Illing, a left-arm medium pacer from New Zealand, as well as three uncapped Indian players, bringing the total to 150.
The Indian contingent includes Delhi legspinners Medhavi Bidhuri and Samaira Raghav, as well as Uttar Pradesh left-arm medium pacer Avanya Jain. Illing adds an international pace option to the pool. Raghav is also a handy lower-order batter. While Illing has set her base price at INR 30 lakh, the three uncapped domestic players all start at INR 10 lakh.
The five franchises will enter the auction with differing purse sizes and squad requirements. With eight open positions, including three overseas positions, UP Warriorz have the largest remaining purse of INR 3.75 crore.
The Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have six open slots for Indian players and the smallest available prize of INR 90 lakh.
The Gujarat Giants only need INR 1.25 crore to fill three slots, while the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals each need INR 1.10 crore to fill five slots. The runners-up in each of the previous four editions, Delhi Capitals, still have INR 1.1 crore to spend on five spots, including one spot on the international bench.
