There were only four batters who scored 20 or more runs. In response, Tasmania smashed 117 for 1 in just 16.2 overs to win. By combining for an opening stand of 76 from 9.1 overs, openers Mitchell Owen (43) and Caleb Jewell (41 not out) ensured there would be no nervous moments chasing the modest target. After that, Webster continued his impressive work with the ball by contributing an unbeaten 26 runs off the same number of deliveries as Tasmania defeated the home team. When Meredith caught Sam Fanning (3) behind and feathered an edge outside off stump, WA's openers had only scored seven runs in 2.3 over. Webster bowled at a medium pace and removed Joel Curtis (8) by finding an edge behind down the leg side. This made it 35 for 2 and led to a collapse of 4 for 37. Cameron Bancroft struggled to 19 from 35 balls before edging a catch to Webster at second slip off quick Will Prestwidge (2-19), who then caught Will Malajczuk behind for a duck.
