WCPL 2026 - Harleen Deol boosts Barbados middle order for title push

India batter Harleen Deol has joined defending champions Barbados Tridents for the remainder of the Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) 2026 as their fifth overseas player. Fifth Overseas Slot: Deol joins the Tridents squad directly in Barbados and becomes the fifth overseas player in their roster, taking the total number of Indian players in WCPL 2026 to five (comprising a quarter of all overseas slots across the league). Teaming Up: She adds middle-order depth to a Tridents squad that already features fellow Indian international players Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar. The other two Indian players featured in this WCPL season are Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia (both playing for Trinbago Knight Riders). International & Franchise Record: Deol has featured in 28 T20Is for India, scoring 311 runs. In domestic franchise cricket, she has represented Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz in the WPL, scoring 649 runs in 28 matches. Tournament Outlook: Barbados Tridents dropped their opening fixture against Trinbago Knight Riders on September 5 and will look to bounce back in their upcoming matches against Jamaica Empress and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Tridents have played only one match so far in this year's tournament, losing to Knight Riders by 21 runs in the opening fixture on September 5. That match featured starring performances from three Indian players: Pandey (3 for 17), Bhatia (35 in 28 balls) and Navgire (28 in 21 balls). Tridents will face Jamaica Empress on Saturday and Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday.
