Unbeaten Amazon Warriors Make It Six Straight Behind Nabi's Heroics
Guyana Amazon Warriors made it six wins from six matches in CPL 2026 with a seven-wicket victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Providence on September 6, 2026.
Nabi's Four-Fer Squeeze: Player of the Match Mohammad Nabi derailed the Patriots' innings by taking 4 for 17 in his four overs, including the key wickets of Jason Holder and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Pace Support: Romario Shepherd (3/16) and Shamar Joseph (2/22) applied relentless pressure early and late in the innings. Alick Athanaze provided the only real resistance for the Patriots with a 39-ball 52.
Aggressive Start: Rahmanullah Gurbaz set a rapid tone for the modest 129-run chase, blasting 39 off 25 balls to propel Guyana to 58 during the powerplay. Calm Finish: Shai Hope (38* off 44) and Mohammad Nabi (25* off 21) joined forces to comfortably steer the Warriors across the line in the 19th over, maintaining their unbeaten record at the top of the table.
Hope and Nabi, though, controlled the chase from there on, with almost zero scoreboard pressure to affect them. There was no need to hurry, and they didn't. Hope, in fact, got his unbeaten 38 from 44 balls, hitting just three fours. Nabi was somewhat quicker, hitting two fours and a six as he got to 25 in 21 balls before the job was done.
The only criticism for Amazon Warriors might be that they didn't do their net run-rate the good they could have when faced with such a low target, but with six wins out of six, they might not need to bother with such calculations.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots: 128 all out (19.2 overs) | Guyana Amazon Warriors: 132/3 (18.3 overs) | Result: Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 7 wickets (with 9 balls remaining)
