A dominant opening stand from Jan Frylinck and a disciplined bowling performance led by Ruben Trumpelmann saw hosts Namibia secure an 18-run victory over South Africa in Windhoek. Frylinck & Steenkamp's Blistering Start: Namibia's top order took control early after being put in to bat. Jan Frylinck (60 off 41) and Louren Steenkamp (41 off 29) forged an 84-run opening stand in under 10 overs before Bjorn Fortuin broke the partnership. South Africa's Mid-Innings Fightback: Spinners Prenelan Subrayen (3/32) and Bjorn Fortuin (2/17) triggered a dramatic collapse, causing Namibia to lose nine wickets for 79 runs and limiting them to 163/9. Early Powerplay Blows: Namibia's young bowling attack made quick breakthroughs, with Jack Brassell removing Jordan Hermann and Max Heingo bowling Tony de Zorzi to leave South Africa struggling at 39/3. Brevis' Lone Resistance: Dewald Brevis single-handedly kept the Proteas alive with a 50-ball 75. However, Ruben Trumpelmann (3/24) dismissed Brevis in the 18th over to halt the chase. The last delivery was a full toss and Brevis tried to drag it leg-side but outside edged to short third. Brassell was stationed in exactly the right spot and timed his jump well to end Brevis' innings and South Africa's hopes. They needed 31 runs off the last two overs, and 28 off the last one after Erasmus bowled a strangling penultimate over that cost three runs and dismissed Fortuin. That left Smit with plenty to defend and he did so in style, with two wickets in two balls to end the game.
