Through the Big Bash's free agent market, Adam Zampa left the Melbourne Renegades to join the Hobart Hurricanes ahead of BBL 2026-27. For the next two seasons, the 34-year-old, who is Australia's leading wicket-taker in T20Is and the most successful spinner in BBL history, will add to an already strong Hurricanes bowling attack. In 121 BBL games, Zampa has taken 138 wickets at an economy rate of 7.28. After stints with Sydney Thunder, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars, and Melbourne Renegades, Hobart will be his fifth BBL team. "Being a part of the Hurricanes has really excited me. It's a strong squad that has enjoyed plenty of success over the past couple of seasons and I'm looking forward to getting down to Hobart and being part of it," Zampa said. “The chance to work with Nath [Ellis] at the Hurricanes was definitely something that piqued my interest because I’ve known him for a long time and we’ve played a lot of cricket together. The group has a lot of talent, so I hope I can join in, play my part, and help the team win another championship.
