Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals of the 2026 Asian Games men’s T20 cricket tournament after their quarter-final clash against Hong Kong, China was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain in Nisshin, Japan. Seeding Advantage: Under tournament regulations, Pakistan progressed directly to the semi-finals by virtue of their higher ICC T20I ranking and top-four seeding entering the tournament. Persistent Rain in Nisshin: Continuous morning rain at Korogi Sports Park prevented the toss from taking place, forcing officials to call off the fixture. Road to the Knockouts: Pakistan: As one of the top four ICC ranked teams in Asia (alongside India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka), Pakistan bypassed the group stage and received direct entry into the quarter-finals. Hong Kong: Hong Kong reached the last eight after finishing second in Group B with a win against Oman and a loss to Malaysia. Squad & Leadership: The Pakistan squad is captained by Sahibzada Farhan and coached by Mike Hesson, featuring key international players including Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Haider Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr., and Sufyan Moqim.
