Cox's match-winning knock featured 5 fours and 6 sixes, guiding England Lions to 163-8 in 19.3 overs, chasing 162-6 set by Pakistan Shaheens. Cox struck 75 from 37 balls after three wickets from Scott Currie had helped to restrict Pakistan Shaheens to 162 for 6. Cox's fireworks were followed by a composed finish. Saad Masood finally got Cox caught for 75, but England Lions were cruising at that point, needing 32 off 29 balls. Dan Mousley chipped in with 28 off 23, and Mitch Stanley sealed the win with a single off the last-but-one ball, after a misfield. England Lions won with 3 balls to spare! Currie had earlier turned the match the Lions way with two wickets in the 13th over on his way to figures of 3 for 27. James Coles continued his good form when he bowled Nawaz in the next over as the Sussex spinner returned 2 for 28. The five-match 50-over series is to begin in Abu Dhabi on Friday. Cox was on fire ! He took control of the chase, hitting 4 sixes in his first 11 deliveries, and reached a 21-ball century. Essex batter Cox smashed 20 runs off Shahzaib Khan's fourth over, after Smeed got out early.
