After Derbyshire Police dropped its investigation into an alleged assault that occurred last month, England fast bowler Brydon Carse will not be charged. "A man was detained after his information was taken by officers on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly." Carse will now be the subject of an investigation by the Cricket Regulator following the conclusion of the police investigation. Before the second Test at Lord's, Test captain Joe Root said he was "hacked off" about the situation. Brendon McCullum, limited-overs coach, said last week that Carse needed to "get his house in order." This came after the ECB said Carse needed to "work through the issues that led to the Derby incident and take time for a proper reset" when he wasn't selected. Since the incident in Derby, Carse has been playing for Durham in the County Championship. However, he did not play in the county's match against Worcestershire in this round because he was "unwell."
