The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the IPL 2027 mini-auction will take place in Goa in mid-December (tentatively December 15–16). Return to India: The auction returns to Indian soil for the first time since the 2023 edition (Kochi), ending a three-year streak of overseas host venues—Dubai (2024), Jeddah (2025 mega-auction), and Abu Dhabi (2026).   One-Day Mini-Auction: Designed as a single-day event, franchises will use the session to fine-tune their rosters, address specific squad gaps, and fill slots left by released players. Increased Purse Ceiling: Ahead of the 2027 season, the overall player purse cap for franchises is set to expand to ₹130 crore.   Official Confirmations: Both IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal and BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the location, noting a deliberate push to bring the auction back to India despite peak December holiday and wedding season bookings. The IPL has not yet announced the retention deadline, which is usually towards the end of November. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending IPL champions, having won back-to-back titles in 2025 and 2026.
